Ark network expands with three new London schools
This September Ark is welcoming three schools in South and West London to the network, bringing our total number of schools to 38 across Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth.
Ark Acton Academy (previously Acton High School) is a six-form entry secondary school and sixth form in Acton, West London. Ark Acton will benefit from links with the proposed nearby secondary school Ark Soane Academy, due to open in 2020.
Jerry Collins, Regional Director for Ark Acton, says, "The school has some great strengths upon which we want to build. Ark is one of the top multi-academy trusts in the country and has a strong track record of improving schools. As a network, our schools work together closely, support each other and share best practice. Acton High will benefit from strong links with our other Ark schools in the local area too. We’re confident that we are in a great position to support the staff and students at the school to achieve."
Ark Greenwich Free School (previously Greenwich Free School) is a four-form entry secondary school in Greenwich, South-East London.
Jane Fletcher, Regional Director for Ark Greenwich, says, "We’re delighted to welcome Greenwich Free School to the Ark network. It’s a school with strong results and values which align closely to ours, and the staff are already able to recognise the shared goals that exist between the school and Ark. We’re excited to see Ark Greenwich go from strength to strength as we work together."
Ark John Archer Primary Academy (previously High View Primary School) is a two-form entry primary school (currently operating as one-form entry) in Clapham, South-West London. The school is named after John Archer, who was the Mayor of Battersea 100 years ago and the first black person to hold civic office in London.
Damian McBeath, Regional Director for Ark John Archer, says, "We’re delighted to welcome Ark John Archer to our network. We believe that we can build on the existing strengths of the school to ensure that every pupil receives the highest quality education.
"We’ve been working closely with existing staff and the local community to make the transition as smooth as possible, setting positive plans in place to ensure that the school continues to thrive and develop. Working together is key to everything we do and we know that the school will benefit from links with others in the Ark network too.”
