On Tuesday, 11th November 2025, students and staff at Ark Blake Academy gathered to honour Remembrance Day and pay tribute to the soldiers who gave their lives in service to their country.
Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, marks the moment the First World War ended—at 11 a.m. on 11th November 1918. It is a time to reflect on the courage and sacrifices made by men and women, past and present, who have fought to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.
Joining students and staff from 39 Ark schools across Birmingham, Hastings, London, and Portsmouth, Ark Blake Academy held a special assembly featuring a one-minute silence to pause and reflect. During the assembly, Principal Mr. Rispoli spoke about the significance of Remembrance Day and why it remains important for students and society today.
Throughout the week, each year group attended their own commemorative assembly, providing an opportunity to learn about the history of Remembrance Day and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who served. These moments of reflection helped our students understand the importance of remembering and honouring those who gave everything for their country.
