On Friday 24th January, Year 7 students took part in the remarkable M&G plc Enterprise Challenge drop-down day. This numeracy-focused STEM workshop brought Maths to life by immersing students in real-world scenarios. They stepped into the role of event organisers, tasked with planning a major music concert for 10,000 young people.
Throughout the day, students demonstrated incredible creativity and enthusiasm, fully engaging in the challenge. Working in teams, they collaborated to analyse data and make important decisions—ranging from selecting artists within a set budget to designing stage layouts and planning event catering.
The workshop not only strengthened their mathematical skills but also fostered the development of crucial transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and resilience. Students embraced the challenge wholeheartedly, with many showcasing innovative ideas and solutions.
We are extremely proud of the effort and energy shown by Year 7 students. Their enthusiasm and creativity made this drop-down day an enjoyable and rewarding experience, leaving both students and staff thoroughly impressed!
